Exactly ,what I meant .

"better" is such a word in this context ?

An accurate rip and a squeezebox should beat any kind of disc driven
transport or the disc driven transport can be equal if it manage to get
an error free read of the disc.

But connected to TP's internal DAC the stored file has an advantage in
that it does not have to use a spdif interface to get there ?

This borders on the impossible ? you cant get better than perfect ?

*Either all OP's rips are broken .

*Replaygain

*Or the drive is very "special" and manage to influence playback via
jitter or other electrical disturbances , and gives you another
audiophile trap, different is better. OP then prefer this "different "
sound , but it is not a more accurate representation of the source
material.

*No blind test, all bets are off. nice anecdote but it does not have
any information about the difference in sound-quality.

Sometimes the order in which one listen influence things, try to listen
to same track 2 times in a row without any changes, things sometimes
sound different if you listen more than one time and nothing has
changed.

All other kinds of subtle influences is this CD drive a nice looking
solid "audiophile" component "cognitive dissonance".

AES-EBU is it not the worst input/output to use , you don't have to
believe me just do a forums search on Seans opinion of AES-EBU when he
designed the TP.
