I've got a Rotel RMB-1077 multi-channel amp that uses the original B&O
ICEpower Class D modules. That thing is no slouch in terms of "real
performance". In fact, I sold off a Bryston(!) amp when I got the
Rotel. It's possibly the best amp I've ever heard in its power range of
100 wpc.

But back to the topic of this thread, my current favorite tiny amp for
modest $ is the Dared MP5 design (also sold as the Fatman iTube and
several other names), which is a hybrid design featuring a tube pre-amp
stage and a Class AB chip amp power stage. I bought one branded "Sonic
Integrity" for well under $200 brand new, and I yanked out a more
expensive Parasound zPre v2 and zAmp v3 combo when I got that one.
