Soundcheck thanks for the education and patience with us  :-)
I can pretty much say that a 2000+ DAC would still respond to changes
in transport - as long as it is connected via SPDIF. I would never go
back to transports. Transports make a difference but I dont think they
are worth the money the audiophile companies ask for them. 
With your mods, I can guess that the Touch sounds like a $1000
transport or so or maybe even higher priced (I am using a linear power
supply with it). 
I wish Logitech open sources the firmware. That is the best way to
tweak the platform.
