Ok, originally the flac was encoded with the following options: -l 12 -b 16384 -m -e -r 6 --keep-foreign-metadata
For testing, I reencoded it using -l 12 -b 4096 -m -e -r 6 --keep-foreign-metadata And that plays. For reference, -5 is '-l 8 -b 4096 -m -r 5' Anyway, my problem is solved.
