Klaus,
I tried Sabre (BUF32) with various trafos (including PE and Newava) and
none of them sounded better than direct coupled coax, but still better
than toslink :). The possible reason might be that I put the
considerable effort to minimize the ground noise of SBT, switch&router,
netbook&discs - all equipped with linear PSUs (5 units together) with
properly set power polarity, and the isolation power trafo in front of
DAC. 
BTW what pulse trafo you found the best sounding?
