Yes, the other night with the fuzziness coming and going for extended
periods, it was almost as though something was getting out of synch,
and when it got really out/bad, something would "reset" it and it would
be good for another while...repeat.

I wasn't casting aspersions about your or anybody's (incl. my) system
with my "low-buck" comment. If that's how it seemed? I just meant it
sounded like a CD played on a cheap DVDP via the analog outputs:
listenable but not worthy of mention really. :)

BTW, again listened for ~3 hours yesterday and never did get the
fuzziness. So except for the TT3.0 buffer setting (my 4000 vs his
3200), I get similarly fine performance as SBGK does using the exact
settings he posted. So there's something important to it. Wish I knew
what it was. It boggles my mind that the SQ can vary so hugely with a
few priority changes. I truly wish it didn't, last thing I need is
*more* system variables.
