Hey!......I resemble that remark ;>). Regarding the op's question....if you asked Klaus, and others here, they'd probably say that, while the Touch's outputs are quite good, the basic philosophy is to try to make things even better by poking around in the Touch's guts and attempting to find, and either eliminate or reduce, hardware and/or software noise-producing processes. And that's as good an explanation is this numpty can give! Whether or not one subscribes to the belief that any of this has an audible impact on what your ears perceive is, of course, a matter of judgement and evaluation of your own ears and equipment combo. Klaus' TT mods (and the other tweaks----the "mods of the mods") are free and relatively easy to install. I would certainly encourage folks to try and listen for themselves. If the TT mods doesn't improve anything, or sound worse, you've only invested a bit of time and they're easy to disable or uninstall. Best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year to you all. -- rgro Rg System information ------------------------ Main: PS Audio Quintet > Vortexbox > Touch (wired) via optical > Rega DAC > LFD LE IV Signature amp > VA Mozart Grands > REL Acoustics R305 sub.
