Hey!......I resemble that remark ;>).

Regarding the op's question....if you asked Klaus, and others here,
they'd probably say that, while the Touch's outputs are quite good, the
basic philosophy is to try to make things even better by poking around
in the Touch's guts and attempting to find, and either eliminate or
reduce, hardware and/or software noise-producing processes.

And that's as good an explanation is this numpty can give! Whether or
not one subscribes to the belief that any of this has an audible impact
on what your ears perceive is, of course, a matter of judgement and
evaluation of your own ears and equipment combo.  Klaus'  TT mods (and
the other tweaks----the "mods of the mods") are free and relatively
easy to install.  I would certainly encourage folks to try and listen
for themselves.  If the TT mods doesn't improve anything, or sound
worse, you've only invested a bit of time and they're easy to disable
or uninstall.
