Hello fellow tweakers. I have been following this thread since the beginning but have never been able to try any of the mods as the screen on my Bolder modded Touch was disabled (permanently!) when I snapped the flat cable connector. Anyhow I finally got around to buying another Touch and decided to give Klaus' Toolbox a try. I was a bit skeptical at first but after only a few seconds of late night listening to the original version I knew there was something going on. It was like a blanket had been lifted off my speakers. I couldn't wait 'til the next day to try it with more volume. It was then that I realized just how detailed and transparent everything was. Unfortunately the price for all this detail appeared to be, as expected, a less forgiving sound with certain material. I tried a few different tubes/opamps in my DAC and followed a few different suggestions from SBGK and the others. Finally I think everything has fallen into place with this last tweak. The mids are richer, the bass is there in spades and the detail appears to almost if not all there(more listening/tweaking/comments to follow) Bingo! A BIG thanks to Klaus and everyone who has provided their input.
