*sigh* I have manually done some of them (basically for tidyness and
remove unused stuff , no analog no smb, no wifi and some small stuff ),
but it is not a good use of time to move further as in fact all
reasonably good digital sources sounds the same with my processor ;)
once over a certain threshold in quality.
This is the expected result with any reasonably well designed DAC btw
.
So if you *don't* get this result you should start measuring or doing
blindtest before claiming that an actual physical improvement have
occurred.
It is then more likely that some bias/placebo effect is at hand or
something is wrong with the setup or the dac, than that the mystery
tweak did something real. Otherwise myths start to grow about it .
If it's there for real you find it with some scientific method.

So even a basic Touch or SB3 is the same as my DVDA transport etc on
comparable material.

But I'm probably deaf or my hifi is not "resolving" enough :)

And of-course no difference between flac or wav or anything like that
either.
I have the screen on for cover arts and titles to.
And of-course none of the different network setups I used over the
years have sounded different either (not very likely )

Digital transport is no problem with todays dac's just get a Touch and
enjoy .

I'm going to do just that in a moment :)( with the cheapest possible
cat5 cables to my digital speakers from my processor )

Btw Is this tread not about audio myths in general not specifically
just squeezebox soft/hardware tweaks .

There are so many of where to begin ? quantum purifiers and shakti
stones etc ?

Just be real sometimes.
Imo I think hifi needs a reboot, to not be this esoteric cargo cult
anymore.
I look at what my younger friends are using :-/ some real speaker and
decent quality amp goes a long way to improve their stuff.
But hifi mythology have spread so much that normal people thinks this
hobby is to expensive and weird to even consider, that's sad .

I think I had my say.
