That's because they are not selling anything that could ever be
unambiguously verifiable. It's like the makers of red wine -- despite
the fact that you could scientifically measure many parameters that are
supposedly at play when enjoying a glass of red wine, there is no way
under the sun that someone could come up with a convincing case, a pile
of metrics printed on a sheet of paper that would instantly trump the
competition.

At the end of the day it's all down to individual taste. Some people
just don't care about red wine, period, and they go with their
Budweiser. Others prefer wines from this region, that region, this
year, that year, this manufacturer, that manufacturer, bottled with
this cork, that cork, the expectations are endless and seemingly
uncontrollable.

So please, tell me, what's wrong with that? Some of us are the same
when it comes to cables. I prefer Shunyata, the guy over there prefers
Cardas. We're not gonna fight over that. That would be the as stupid as
fighting with someone because we prefer Cabernet Sauvignon while that
other person prefers Merlot.

It is only some sorry frustrated individuals who don't 'get it', and
then get theirs nuts tied into a knot over the fact that someone has
the audacity to spend $500 on a bottle of wine. What's it to those
people? And why don't they, for Christ's sake, go out and get a life?
Start a family, join a knitting club, do something with the time the
creator has allotted to them on this earth.
