I have had most (if not all) products in the Squeezebox line over the years and my experience with those products connected to different DACs (including some high-end ones) leads me to believe that the Duet, for instance, is an inferior digital source compared to the Transporter.
The above is just my opinion, of course, as I have never performed any measurements.
