Thats the whole point :) of course you can have other inputs plugged in to the Perraux from other devices . Btw you can but why use more than one ouput from the Transporter , you can do that for testing purpose . But Toslink has one advantage ,galvanic isolation that would disappear if connect AES and Coax at the same time . Toslink (optical) is in some cases not as good as coax ,but that can be completely offset by the galvanic isolation thing if the source would carry over ground loops or other problems . For example a DTV box conected to a antenna system in an apartment block there you have ground loops 101 conecting such a box via optical is good idea. I won't suspect the transporter of such things ,but you could get such problems depending on how the Perraux and the rest of your stuff are wired together, one never knows . Another thing is that if the Perraux DAC is a well implemented variant of the ESS Sabre it would be very jitter resilient and in general you only hear these differences if something is wrong. A very confusing fact that John Swenson on this forums likes to put attention on is that these things are very dependent on how they are implemented in the actual products ! So those general assumptions that one kind of digital in/output is "better" may not be so in practice . Can also be a futile effort to try and hear a difference if they all are reasonably well designed as the level off problems will be bellow the threshold when they become audible :P (this is imo the general case nowadays ,but audiophile products can throw you surprise now and then ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96792 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
