Thanks Archimago for that very well written and highly informative link.
The sad part is that, at least here in the USA, there has been a
prolonged war on science and other evidenced based beliefs in favor of
pseudo-scientific and subjective belief systems. In this respect the
audiophile world is simply mirroring the world at large.

The good part is that things like torrents and file transfer sites are
making it more difficult for vendors like HDTracks to make a profit from
their less than honest business practices.

Now if only there was a way to reduce to the reduce the profits of other
business that profit from the propagation of anti-science. Gun
manufacturers and big oil being two of the worst offenders. And I
apologize for the political slant of this post but, at least to my eyes,
there seems to a direct connection between the outright rejection of the
scientific method and the inability to have more meaningful on so many
important issues. While audio may be one of the least important issues
effected by the anti-science bias, it is nonetheless suffering the same
fate.
