+1

Especially 6 moons ,but I think stereotimes is even worse
http://stereotimes.com/acc032212.shtml

But is suspect most net based outfits are pure shills from day one . The
praise everything mostly ?

The rags have become like that trough a long process where all are
friends manufacturer and journalists , that kind of corruption can be
hard to see from the inside . And add the stronger force of money if you
add financed your are not free to displease the advertiser if you cant
take the hit of loosing some advertiser for some time .

In the case of TAS it was not a long process , they discounted abx as
valid testing methods from day one and do not measure much and do not
posses any applicable skills in audio engineering ( especially in the
digital domain , as noted by thier article on digital audio ) and " pre
corrupted " by thier initial mind set their where fast tracked to hell
.
The term "usefull idiot" is used in some spy novels I can't find a
better English term ?
The idea is that someone is doing your agenda without ever understanding
that he's doing it ! Even if told up front .
And it don't take much to manipulate some . They want to believe ! this
is fertile ground for charlatans hence the rise in unorthodox tweaks
like "ambient field enhancers "we are back to literal snake oil and not
methaphorical snake oil .

So you can be an objective audiophile but it's excitingly hard to do as
the audio press has mostly betrayed us and provide little valid
information on how things works and how products actually performs . You
can even be objective with subjective methods ( use properly setup
listening tests ) and augment with technical stuff .

I wish they could deliver the test objects to some of these reviewers in
large sealed boxes with only the cables sticking out with no information
on brand or price or design principles :) you add weights to make them
weight the same , they should be heavy it's important for audiophiles
that equipment is heavy for some reason ( it a valid concern within
reason ) you add some mechanical manupilators and an ir transparent
patch on the box .

I like this one ""Frankly, you have little experience as an
audiophile..." you seem to imply we all have some kind of common
definition. "That's it .
What is the common definition for a card carrying audiophile ? You dont
have to believe in all the cr*p that's around to be one I don't think
so.

So is this " experience " believing more and more of this cr*p ,drinking
more cool-aid ?
So when you finally achieve wisdom after years and years of audiophilism
you bought it all and have your trouser around your ankles .
Looks awfully similar to joining the Scientology or something similar .
But you end up with 500000 $ in underperformaning audio equipment of
technically questionable pedigree.
