Since I'm considering purchasing some of the remastered Beatles LPs, I
was wondering if anyone had a chance to compare two or more of the same
LPs? What used to happen back in my old vinyl days is that each and
every LP, even the ones from the same manufacturer/same batch, used to
sound different. Some slight differences in the way the LPs were
pressed, or handled, or packaged etc., contributed to the variation in
the sound quality. I guess the technology was immature back in the day,
coupled with shoddy quality assurance etc.

I wonder if the same consideration holds true for the modern pressings,
or if the technology had advanced to the point where there is much more
reliability in terms of the quality assurance?

Just FYI, I haven't been buying LPs since more than 10 years ago, and
even then I was mostly buying used copies at $2.00 - $3.00 a pop. To
shell $20.00+ for the fresh pressings today seems like a bit of a rip
off to me, so I wanna make sure I'm not wasting my money.
