That's why blind testing is critical if we really need the unvarnished truth about what we hear and what we don't. Of course, that's a big "if". The vast majority of the time in audio the only thing that matters is our opinion. It doesn't matter much whether our perception is due to some technical aspect or is a figment of our imagination. In short, your "test" is meaningful for you, and meaningless for everyone else.
