The streaming music or, if you prefer, computer based music market appears to be moving towards several different niches, depending on cost and acceptable sound quality.
Mass market segment - this seems to be split between all in one systems like Sonos / computer speakers / AppleTV The "just play music" segment - smart phones and blue tooth speakers The high end segment - another split between high end streamers like Linn and Sooloos / Mac Mini feeding DSD via asynchronous USB into a DAC / AppleTV (even though it doesn't handle flac or DSD) The funny thing is that the Squeezebox Touch could easily fit into both the mass market segment (using the analog output) and the high end segment (using the digital output). Kind of sad just how badly Logitech handled the Squeezebox line.
