yep aware of this but , if the recordings are done randomly it would be
hit and miss anyway even if it was possible to hear as you could
possibly never know for each recording .
And on well functioning equipment you most likly cant hear any diffrence
.

Hmm some stuff do come with a phase inversion button , firts class
placebo button then :)

But for conecting XLR it does not really matter it works anyhow as you
said .

Phase on the AC input is another thing some transformer inside stuff
emit a smidge more magnetic field when conected the "wrong way" but its
higly unlikely to make any audiable diffrence unless its a really bad
design .
I have ofcourse done my fair share input cable shifting in my past as
before my audiophile membership card expiered
