Oh, yes, good idea I thought.  So I did it and proceeded to play a track
successfully.  Thanks you Gary!. But wait. . .

I went back to the original tracks I'd tried to play, anxious for a
first listen.  Al Jarreau, My Old Friend.  My CD, ripped with dBp.

Every track on the album is silent.  Tags are there, album art is there,
track appears to play (counts down the time), but there is no sound at
all. The CD itself plays normally.  So there was nothing wrong with the
TP at all, just with the rip.

I will now try to re-rip with dBp, but this is very strange -- not seen
anything like this before.
