Thanks - I learned something only by listening in. I have a Yamaha !-720 (http://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/yamaha/a-720.shtml) integrated amplifier which I am only using at less than a third of the volume control with my Monitor Audio Bronze speakers (http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/649109800-monitor_audio_bronze_3_speakers/images/702957/). But the amplifier has a Muting button which reduces the volume output so that I have to set the volume to the upper half. So I should use this than?
