Unfortunately the world doesn't make ultra cheap cables that meet the
"does the job" criteria. I think as others have said, aim to spend
around £30 or so and you will get something decent that will give you
99.9% of possible "performance". Anything more is up to you but you
likely won't get better, just different.

Personally I dont see any need to upgrade power lines however, having
decided it's up to the guy who designed the PSU in my gear to deal with
whatever comes down the power line. Beyond using a decent 13A well made
cable, I never heard any difference from a power cable or power filter
(unless there's something wrong of course..).

For interconnects and speaker cables however I would agree there are
minor variations. I wouldn't necessarily say it's in the "quality" in
terms of distortion level or S/N but certainly in terms of frequency
response or current handling and therefore big dynamic impact. Speaker
cables much more so than interconnects. Even so, you don't need to spend
a lot. But given that speakers are so bad and vary so much that's a
better place to spend your time tuning your system than with cables,
imho.
