It really depend on how much data is to be backed up.
When the quantity of data you have to save daily is not big,
a CD-R (or CD-RW) will be fine.
It depend also on how many computers have to be backed up. If you have more than 5 computers with of lot of data, you should use a computer which will be dedicated to storing.
