Demo available at www.auditleverage.com I wanted to get a sense from subscribers how many are using CAATs and whether you are using I.D.E.A. or ACL? I am trying to see if there is interest in encouraging I.D.E.A. or ACL users to consider contributing scripts or macros for either of the above products. This would be done in the interest of preventing the reinvention of the wheel for routine tasks. Not being an experienced user of I.D.E.A. I don't know what the downsides of such a effort would be or even if it would be worthwhile but thought the first step is to find out how many are using either product. Following is a description of IDEAScript. I would imagine that ACL has a similar capability. IDEAScript is development tool for IDEA users to extend the power and functionality of IDEA. It is an object oriented programming language which is consistent with Microsoft's Visual Basic for Applications(tm) and LotusScript(tm). Scripts, which are often called macros, can be created either by recording a series of IDEA steps, by copying from other scripts, by copying from the History, or by typing into a<mk:@MSITStore:C:\Program%20Files\IDEA\idea.chm::/Macro%20Window.htm> Macro Window. Often a combination of all three methods is used with the main steps being recorded, additional items copied in and then final editing in the Macro Window. Scripts can be attached to the Tools menu or to a Toolbar Macro Button or run simply from the Tools Macro menu. It is not necessary to open the Macro Window to run a script although scripts can be run from within this window.
