Audit-l is sponsored by Audit Leverage by IAD Solutions, Inc. Audit Leverage is a department management software package that integrates and automates the entire audit process. This comprehensive package includes risk assessment, audit planning, budgeting, staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, automated work papers, audit findings & recommendations, reporting and audit follow-up. Audit Leverage allows auditors in the field to work off-line and dial in to synchronize their work with the Audit Leverage database on the network, enabling managers to review the work papers instantly without being at the job site.
Demo available at www.auditleverage.com Sharon et al, I just attended a session yesterday where Michael Awad, the president of IAD Solutions, demo'd Audit Leverage. I was very impressed with the software capability as well as the cost. I would recommend that you look at the software. I am now looking at Audit Leverage and other software to implement in my own office (myself, one auditor and one support administrative position. The main point that I came away with is that Audit Leverage creates a data warehouse for an audit office. You can surely create your own online workpaper system but from my experience it doesn't tie everything together in a neat package. You can create your own system but it would take significant effort using Access, Word and Excel to tie it all together and automate it. Our department is considering moving to online work papers. We have examined several software packages, but we have not found anything that we like enough to spend that kind of money. We are a small office (director, one staff auditor, three student auditors), and we are thinking of developing our own system. Our plan is to have a main document in Excel and use hyperlinks to supporting documents which would be stored in appropriate subdirectories. Have any of you developed your own online work paper system? What kind of advice do you have for us? Thanks! Sharon ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sharon J.
