Subject: Corporate benefits audit programI couldn't find any specific audit programs at the website, so I thought I'd ask...
We are planning an internal audit of our corporate benefit programs to include:
Pension Plans,
Health and Dental programs
401K plans
Employee Stock Options
and management of our Flexible spending accounts.
Does anybody have experience in these areas and/or audit programs you'd be willing to share?
Most of the stuff our external auditors have given us is limited to 5500 financial reporting aspects.
We were trying to gear our review more toward process improvements and best practices, etc.
(for example testing the social security numbers against a sound data base for validity, etc.)
Thanks in advance for any support, wisdom or guidance your willing to lend...
regards,
TimTim O'Brien

Title: Corporate benefits audit program
Tim,
I am
currently doing an audit of our Health Care which is not as broad of scope as
yours. I purchased a book titled "Auditing Health Care Benefits: How to
Manage Costs & Minimize Risk". It costs about $160 new, but I found it used
on Amazon for about $90. I used the book to develop an internal
control questionnaire. Let me know if you are interested. The book also
suggests some tests that may be relevant to the rest of your
audit.
