Jessica,

Actually for my organization I am running the company's business continuity
plan. Although there is a bit of conflict, I have assigned one of my staff
the responsibility of independent review. IN my situation, my overall
knowledge of company operations makes me the likely candidate. I report
periodically to the Audit Committee and let them know of my concerns, if
any. So yes, there is a slight lack of independence, however if you have
staff that can make that up you are providing for the greater good. As far
as the program, we are doing this step by step so I can share some pieces
(attached Business Impact Analysis questionnaire), but the final results are
still a work in process.
