No. When I say 'the compile environment', it means, - build tools version. compiler/linker or something. - kernel Makefile and header files. - some essential applications, module tools, udev, pcmcia or something. Since you didn't seem to understand what I wrote. I suggest you one more thing. - build your kernel by yourself. If you succeed it, then you have a correct environment.
