This is not on a auFS patched kernel - but - -

Makes a very noticeable difference!
Even with Firefox trying to display the black hole of the simplynetbook.com 
home page, KDE/X11 continues to respond.
There is still a visible delay to cleaning up a closed window, but only 
measured in seconds or less - they no longer
act as if they had gone out to lunch. ;)

That one needs to go upstream.
