Hi, trying to compile on 2.6.29.5 and keep suffering from the following
in dmesg when I attempt to modprobe my new module:

[ 9050.826027] aufs: Unknown symbol au_hin_alloc
[ 9050.826162] aufs: Unknown symbol au_reset_hinotify
[ 9050.826366] aufs: Unknown symbol au_hin_ctl
[ 9050.826479] aufs: Unknown symbol au_hinotify_init
[ 9050.826652] aufs: Unknown symbol au_hin_free
[ 9050.826718] aufs: Unknown symbol au_hinotify_fin

Module has been built in a variety of ways, most recently I manually
patched my kernel running vanilla 2.6.29.5 + linux-vserver vs2.3.0.36.14
patches.

So, following the instructions I applied the standalone patch to my
kernel source, rebuilt and rebooted. Then I build the module with KDIR
pointing at the correct source tree (only option changed in config.mk
was inotify to yes). insmod fails with the error above

Note I previously tried the gentoo ebuild which automates these steps
and achieved exactly the same error. My inclination was to assume the
ebuild was flawed, but having now repeated the steps manually it
suggests that the problem lies elsewhere.

I have not tried a vanilla kernel yet (really require vserver on this
server).

Can anyone confirm if this happens to them also?

Note, I previously tried a 2.6.29.2 kernel (same result), but this had
both grsec+pax+vserver patches applied - I stripped out the hardened
patches to try and eliminate them being the problem

Grateful for any help please?

Ed W
