Folks,
I'm very interested in hiding a directory from an AUFS2 union and was
looking at altering the display source of the application, but wanted
to first consider if I could place a "fake" whiteout entry at the root
of the drive that would prevent it from being seen?
The problem is that I cannot delete the dir for system operations,
but I do not want it seen by the customer (this is an embedded
application so control is not an issue).
For this scenario I have several partitions mounted in /tmp/aufs/sdaX
(like sda1, sda2, etc), and they are unioned to /var/media in /var/
media I don't want anyone to see /dirXYZ where ANY or ALL of the real
partitions MIGHT have /dirXYZ.
Would it be possible to place a whiteout at the leftmost r/w AUFS
mountpoint and thus whiteout all the /dirXYZ's?
Erik
