For what it's worth, for packages that use GitHub releases, I wrote a tool [1]
that
updates the pkgver to the latest stable release in addition to the pkgsums. So
if
you use the zen-browser-bin package you can easily automate updates if needed:
$ pkgup
GitHub project: zen-browser/desktop
Latest stable release: 1.21.12b
SHA256 aarch64:
eb197e6dd6459bb9fff2e3081a7745c02ebef33400ca28b49e4a85e5014c3230
SHA256 x86_64:
47e1492bedca5ae4142f54a220559e0bef7a784fb530908f6059da766d16222f
Updated PKGBUILD and .SRCINFO from 1.21.10b-1 to 1.21.12b-1
