Request #12011 has been accepted by Eschwartz [1]: 1) There's nothing wrong with old packages unless you've got something to actually propose
2) whether it downloads binaries or not is irrelevant, it needs to download the stable release tag and follow the go packaging guidelines (currently being rewritten at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/User:Foxboron/Go_packaging_guidelines by the way). 3) Yes the maintainer did indeed list an email address both in the PKGBUILD and in their AUR profile.
