The Hawk wingman did a good job. Unalerted  see and avoid can work.
A bunt is a forward push on the stick, not necessarily an outside loop. Fighter 
pilots like to keep the target in sight, hence the push not a pull.
Looking out the window is a requirement in VMC even if you are on an IFR plan.
Certainly in G, E, D and C airspace and likely the rest. I'm unlikely to fly in 
A or B and can't be bothered confirming that right now.
