I have actually. But I only loaded it to the max allowable.
And, yes, the wing bending of our modern gliders is remarkable.
But a wing weighing a hundred kilograms or so, half-spanning 7.5 to 12
metres, bending some 12 or so feet is still not as structurally impressive
as a wing weighing several tons, half-spanning 30 or so metres, bending
nearly 20 feet.
The 747-400 series have fuel tanks out near the tips to increase the weight
of that part of the wing to reduce bending.
