A fairly serious issue for all Incorporated clubs particularly in NSW who are using Aviation Office of Australia for your Airfield Liability insurance. It does not fulfil the requirements of Fair Trading. We have been STILL trying to lodge our last Annual statement with Fair trading. It has been back to them twice. The first time I thought there was some confusion relating to our name change, and the name on the certificate of currency (CoC) needed fixing. The ever supportive Chamberlains issued us with another CoC and this was dispatched off. A form letter came back with all the documentation stating that there needed to be some amendments. A phone call to Fair trading followed, and finally after some considerable time on hold, spoke to a person called Bernie. The problem? Aviation Office of Australia (AOA) is NOT an approved insurer. Nor is La Reunion Aerienne or any of their member companies (7 of them). A call to Chamberlains. The only way around this is to revert to Brooker International, the (more expensive) underwriter most of us switched from last year. A call then to Peter Freeman at Aviation office of Australia, and informed them. They were surprised and said they would look into it. Seems like they AOA have to pay a visit to fair trading to sort this out. (Problem AOA are in Brisbane, and Fair Trading are in Sydney). SO. Be warned that when you lodge your next return, you may be declined due to this reason. STRONGLY suggest you speak to Peter Freeman at AOA and re-affirm your support for him to expedite the wheels turning. You can ring him on 07 32297822. The crazy thing? AOA I gather provide insurance for Qantas. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. -- * You are subscribed to the aus-soaring mailing list. * To Unsubscribe: send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] * with "unsubscribe aus-soaring" in the body of the message * or with "help" in the body of the message for more information.
