Controlled airspace is a great place to visit. I guess us glider pilots give
the controllers something different to worry about! I remember being given a
block clearance from Gawler to Jamestown and return (the only instructions,
not above FL120, report turning Jamestown).

Have access to controlled airspace can make cross country flights easier.
The worst that can happen is that clearance is denied, or that clearance is
ammended once inside controlled airspace.
