Jason,
The Terra transponder uses the same switches I think. I found a part in the
Farnell catalog that will fit perfectly.
I'll think about your overwrite/stop scheme for FRs. The problem probably
isn't that relevant nowadays as memory is cheap and it's probably easier to
just make it bigger. It depends how lazy people are about downloading the
recorder.
Sailplaning used to be simple - now you need a PC and a lot of technical
knowledge most of which has little to do with flying or making the glider
perform.
Given the new Etrex GPS and also the availability of a A$270 +GST data
logger (optional logging GPS altitude too)which interfaces to any GPS from
a guy in Brisbane one wonders how much longer the IGC can insist on
"approved" loggers with ridiculous and expensive security requirements to
do badges which are of interest only to the person who does them.
