The Mar 2001 issue of Soaring features a new O2 system, "The Co-Pilot", from Mountain
High E&S Co., and I quote directly from the article.
It is a small handheld oxygen system useful for pilots you only occassionally fly at
altitudes requiring oxygen and therefore do not need a full featured O2 system.
The regulator has on/off and flow control knobs. There is a removable mask to allow a
cannula to be fitted for continuous hands off use for 30 minutes at 15000'. The
Co-Pilot system can be shut off and stored for over a year without noticable leakage
of O2.
For $150 USD you get a regulator with guage, mask, two nonrefillable 18litre cylinders
and manual. Options include additional cylinders, Oxymiser cannula and holster pack.
Obviously not for wave soaring but an option definitely worth considering.
