More from Roake's ramblings: This One Takes The Cake. There are two new legislative proposals that seek to licence flight schools under two different State regulatory Boards in Florida. HB 5 contains a number of exemptions where some soaring flight schools may find relief. In contrast, HB 69 applies to ALL flight schools with specific reference to gliders. HB 69 is a draconian attempt to impose State mandates that overlap and in some instances far exceed FAR standards proposing - for example - that the State be empowered to determine whether a flight school or instructor is physically and mentally fit. (No joke - they also reserve the right to insist on marriage counselling and threaten denial or disciplinary action for non-attendance!) What next!
