Hi, Im an Australian but living in Switzerland and learning to glide here. Im at the point now were I have to start sitting exams to get my license. There are about 5 exams on "rules & regs, weather, aerodynamics etc" and its very difficult for me here as its all only available in German, French or Italian. (ich can vestehen ein bischen deutsch)
So my question is , which I found difficult to research on the Aust glding websites, is what is the license structure in Aust if you turn up as a student and want to progress to get your solo and onwards. Is "solo" your first license? Are there any theory exams? I know there is a checklist of various practical flying things you must do before you can go solo or get your first license so my question is more directed to just what are the theory requirements. I would appreciate any help on this. best regards Kelvin Stingel btw, its a awsome flying site here at the start of the alps. short thermal season but regular wave and lots of alpine possibilities. check out http://www.schaenissoaring.ch/ -- * You are subscribed to the aus-soaring mailing list. * To Unsubscribe: send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] * with "unsubscribe aus-soaring" in the body of the message * or with "help" in the body of the message for more information.
