Glad they weren't flying the Airbus with a computer that won't apparently let them side-slip (I wonder if their flight systems engineers had a change of heart after Gimli ?) Plenty more information and pictures can be found by keying in "Gimli Glider" into your favourite web search engine. I think there might be some info on the SSA web site also (these guys gave a presentation to them a few years afterwards), however at the moment the SSA web server is generating ASP errors when I try to use its search feature.
