Gidday Tom and others I agree wholeheartedly with your idea of encouraging youth and not excluding others. Co-existence makes most sense, we can all contribute. We have youth on our committee and we all gain from that. My stance is NOT anti youth and by the way have not experienced youth being anti "oldie" in my club. Tom you're right about the quick trip home after the suicide attempt. My experience of ATC expectations that we'd be responsible for their cadets' behaviour does however leave me with some bad memories, but to their credit ATC officers changed that eventually. The one only cadet who became a member is now flying for the government. He was also a gliding instructor and instructed cadets until about three years ago. Regards Grant
