Try Harold van Linden - I think he makes it or his firm makes
parts for it. He has been to Australia nationals a number of times in
early '90s

Subject: Re: [Aus-soaring] Going beyond 2
Drums
G'Day,
I am aware of the multi-drum winches which exist
outside Australia, I wish to look at the posibility of emulating their design,
as the cost to import a Skylaunch (2 drums), Busio (6 drums) or Supacat (2
drums) is totally cost prohibitive here in Australia.
(I also personally think that twin drums cannot service
a large club (of which we are not at the moment!!), I believe the minimum when
you have 10 sailplanes sitting on the ground would be 4 drums. This argument
would seem to be supported by the section in the reference document:
"Calculates effects of multi-reel winch on daily operations".)
Phil, the suggestion about powering the
drums using hydraulic motors was something that I considered in thought also,
(as well as pnumatics) however before putting time into researching those
options, I thought I'd see if there was a viable and economical mechanical
solution that could be used.
The
link to the document which I am using for my guide, is below, I've shown this
to several members of my club, including the gentleman who taught me to drive
our Yellow Terror ** and it really is recommended reading. Further to this is another document called
telementary_proposal.pdf also good reading.

**Anyone remember the yellow single drum beast which
was located in Woolongong? It's up in Darwin these days - still running, still
with 2000m of 7x19... Still with the old truck seat in the cabin... Still with
the Ford 302 and 3 speed auto box...
