ever used a Cessna 150 or TigerMoth for Towing?

Having been towed by a Cessna 150 two up in a Blanik in Alabama I can't say that I'd recommend it. That upwind hedge was awful big in the canopy as we flew over it. At one stage around 1700' or so we were in some lift and I was about to pin off when the voice in the back pointed out that the cost of the tow was fixed to 3000' so we might as well hang on. And that's what we did for about the next ten minutes hardly gaining any height. Finally another decent bump and I pulled the bung. This was what they called a "150/150" being a reference to the 150hp Lycoming. As for a stardard 110/150, don't even think about it.

For towing with Tiger moths, I'd recommend a read of Fred Hoinville's book Half way to Heaven, in which he describes many tows in his belovered tiger "Brolga".

P.S anyone notice the neat *SNIP* at the top of the message? Concept you lot might want to adopt.
