Motorgliders towing will probably have slower ground acceleration that your pawnee etc and thus the prop is more likely to sustain stone damage.  Also I think nose wheel may be worse than tail wheel (prop clearance).  Thus I would recommend a fixed pitch prop for towing rather than the expensive variable prop with its expensive to repair glass skin and leading edge.  Also tow pilots must be more conscious of where they are taking off from and the stone damage problem.  I personally like the petroni wooden prop fitted to Autotug but would like to see the "rubber type" leading edge like Rob Petroni used to do in the original Jabiru props.
