I'm just pointing out verifiable facts from your own data.
There are fewer entries in the "Nationals" than there were at Dalby at
Easter 18 months ago.

Well, lets see what happens next year. I suspect that without many of the
Queenslanders the list will be considerably smaller again. This years's
popularity is no doubt due to the Queensland location making it convenient
for many local pilots and possibly also that it isn't around the holiday
period in January. I've thought it a good idea to avoid that period for
some time now.
Handicapping this nationals might seem like a good idea to increase short
term participation but in the medium to long term it does nothing to
encourage people to buy new gliders.

Who's complaining?
Could it be that you *want* the comp to die so

Mate, organised national level contest flying degenerated into a farce in
this country a few years ago aided and abetted by the GFA exec and their
mates making poor decisions over many years.
You don't have to be a pessimist, just look at the official figues. Add in
a horrendous major accident rate despite (perhaps because of) ever
increasing bureaucratic tendencies.
Alice in Wonderland is obviously a good label.
