Several months ago I read quite a bit about the thermal generator slated for Mildura. There were a few interesting facts about the chimney - Base Diameter - about the size of the MCG (or Telstra Stadium for the QLDers) Heat - ~90C at the center Construction - concrete So... How do you repair a turbine that sits in a 90C oven that effectively never cools down? And... Even at double the normal cooling rate with altitude, the air exiting the top of the stack will be greater than 80C.
