Chris,

My top speed was 16.8 kbps here in the bush and Telstra called to offer us the Gov't subsidised Satellite Broadband at $196 instead of the normal $3000.

It works great. You should try for it as it is aimed to help us bushies get Broadband as well as the city folk.

Sobbing !!!!!!!!!!!!

I have 28.8 to 31.2 kbps here.
Wish we had the Nats here in SA.
Oh well, I can always go to the library in the township if I need the speed.

Subject: [Aus-soaring] Google Earth

Hi all,

Little off subject but have you seen Google Earth, absolutely amazing access to satellite images world wide. the site offers continuous coverage of the whole globe via the browsing software (free download) resolution varies from area to area but you can make out individual people on the highest resolution! shows Long and Lat  of where you are viewing, measuring tools etc. so could be used for task setting etc!
Access is free unless you want their commercial version.

WARNING however - this is addictive and likely to burn up hours in front of your screen!!!

Cheers,

John Parncutt
