Interesting discussion.

I am 55 YOA, have held a PPL since age 17. Still activly fly both power and gliders. Had problems with "tiredness" a few years ago and was evenetually referred to a cardiologist, where a stress test was recommended. All this because I continually felt tired.

The stress test identified some issues (on the equivalent of the barogram) and an angiogram was recommended. The angiogram identifed an arterial restriction which was corrected with a "stent".
It was amazing the immediate difference this made.

I now have an annual stress test and cardioligist report prior to my normal PPL (Class 2) medical.

The "peace of mind" resulting from this exercise (unfortunately its not totally conclusive) goes someway to allowing me to continue to enjoy my flying as well as providing a professional review of my ongoing medical fitenss (Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, Weight, execise etc etc). The Cost - probably around $300 per year. It allows me to retain a PPL and is accepted by the gliding clubs I fly with.
