Thanks to the people that have helped out so far with the wiki.
Much work has gone into the wiki, and in the past few nights I have added over 400 articles (mostly glider specifications), as well as new lists and a new front page. Not to mention a new logo, kindly made by Nick Gilbert.
I've tightened security by ensuring users login before they can edit, as people worry that it could be defaced.
I intend to the greater gliding community know about it (Australian Soaring magazine etc) sometime in the next month or two, so I'm really hoping that we can have lots of valuable information up there by that time.
What we really need are pilot profiles (tell us about yourself), club
information (chance to plug your club), information about obtaining parts /
manufacturers etc (something I know nothing about and need help with). So
please, if you get a chance in your spare time at work (nothing like company
time), write an article! There is now a rudimentary help section, which can be
found on the front page. It is pretty good in explaining how to write a wiki.
It's designed for people who really don't know much about computers and can't
code in HTML.

And a note about the forum... it was never intended to "replace" the mailing list, just
act as an alternative and supplement. Content is gradually building up, and soon the benefits will
be fit to reap. An interesting feature is that of being able to post "polls", which
people can vote in. So if you have a controversial idea and want to see if anyone supports it, feel
free to make a poll!

Just had a brief look at the Wiki. It is coming along nicely.
Congratulations !
One thing which may be possible to fix: In the list of Gliding Clubs,
there are no entries under "Victoria" yet, but there are articles from
Geelong, GCV and VMFG, all of which have filled in the line at the
bottom which shows "Category". Would it not be possible for a link to
be made which fills in the index when an article with "Category"
correctly filled in is posted to the "Clubs" section ?
Note to VMFG: Your Janus is currently listed under "Single Seat" ;-)
